I guess my concerns are more for how to protect those out there who cant or wont protect themselves.
Dude, I feel you, but you can't account for crazy. That's why it's called, "crazy."

The same thing that happens now. You have a teacher who uses their personal weapon to kill people. Accidental shooting? They're not going to be waiving it around. It'll be on them, secured in the holster.

Put a Military Policemen in each school in America. Make it an assignment. They are trained to protect and do active shooter drills a lot. Lets take some of these guys we are waisting training retards over seas and stick them in our schools, so the last thing our precious children see is some emo shit stain firing a gun at them.

Well someone who is trained and armed needs to be protecting our children.

Edit: Including ourselves out of school.

No dude, it isn't a national problem. It's a tragedy being milked by the national news.

Until a teacher leaves a gun in her purse, bag, or desk then gets called out of the room for something and an accident happens because a curious student found a gun.

While it's not going to be a common occurance it places an an unnecessary risk in the classroom.

Exactly, a one off occurance doesn't warrant a national intervention.

What makes it a National Problem? It feels like a problem to me. I don't want to wait for it to happen in all 50 states before it is a national problem. There are around 100k public schools in America http://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=84. I don't see it as crazy to think we could put someone to protect people in each one. I know that many schools have an officer already so I don't see a problem with it.

Agreed, but that's not the only way to conceal a handgun.

I work for a company that has a 30.06 sign on the gate as we enter. And at times I've questioned whether I'd risk my job vs my own personal safety because of it.

I'm not saying I have carried at work....

I did talk to the head of security, who is now the head of Ross Perots personal security when he was there, and his comment to me was, 'its against company policy is my official stance, but in a case where you could chose to lose you job or life, for me that's a simple choice. Just don't ever tell me your decision to carry here.'
