Originally posted by racrguy View PostFrost, these are some comments about you that I made to a friend recently. I do not want to turn this thread into an argument, but this may shed some light on why I'm so hard on you.
I care about this country and the direction it's headed in just as much as you do, and I want to see a lot of the same changes you do. Are our views different on some things? Fuck yeah they are, but those details can be hammered out.
I try my best to explain things to you in as simple terms as I know how (maybe I don't grasp the concept well enough to accurately convey my point to you) and you continue with the same line, almost as if you completely ignored everything I said, and never offering an explanation as to either what you didn't understand, or what you think is bullshit. That, to me, is enervating, and that's when I insult you. Because you appear to stick your fingers in your ear and scream LA LA LA LA LA. I would like to have discussions with you about politics and social issues, but it seems like I'm talking to a brick wall sometimes, and maybe I am. Only you know.
I'm hardest on you because you have the ability to do the most.
I await your response, and outside feedback is welcomed also.
Sean.
I stick with the same lines because the Constitution doesn't change aside from amendments. If you're calling for any action by the fed for anything not expressly granted to them, the only way I can say you're wrong is to show you HOW you're wrong. I was always taught it's not enough to say "You're wrong" but to show how and why and to attempt to correct the error. If I seem like I ignore everything and keep repeating the same old stuff, it's because of that reason.
You mention my connections. I have a few but that is because of the one thing that drives you crazy. I stay on point. Hammer it relentlessly and am not willing to stray from it when it's on that topic. Violation of the Constitution? I take it personally because of my oath. While I know everyone's tired of hearing it, I do really take it 100% to heart. I am moved by the American flag, I weep during the Star Spangled Banner and I have seen enough of my friends buried under that flag to be persuaded to let things go.
As far as my "Glen Beck/Fox news stupor", I don't watch Fox news nor do I watch or listen to Beck. I check the Blaze from time to time to see what's going on but Fox ignores too much going on and Beck has his good points but he's not far enough for me. Violation of the constitution is treason. Very few see it that way. I absolutely understand how government works. I've been in the Congress, the White House and talked to the people directly so evidently I have some clue. I also understand exactly how it's supposed to work and where we're headed. I read enough history, politics, government and philosophy to see what is going on and it drives me crazy that no one else can see.
Here's where we're going: Government will continue to expand until it drains the majority of GDP. Welfare requirements will encompass more and more until the minority who do not pay for the functions of the government they vote in become the majority and take from those who do at the point of a gun. Government's gun. The producers will have two options at that point. They will either continue to produce and give more and more to the government or they will flee. If they are unable to flee due to more governments doing the same, they will cease to produce. At that point, the whole house of cards collapses, global meltdown, cats and dogs getting along, really wrath of God kind of things.
I am one of those loony teapartiers. Absolutely. Government has less right to the labor of it's people than they do. To labor for the state and to have your property and labor given to another is slavery. I dont' work with grey areas. I work in black and white. Anything not expressly granted to the federal government nor prohibited to the states belongs to the people. Freedom. It's that simple.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Exactly. The producing class fits 2 of the 3 definitions of slavery. They are subject to another (the federal government) who takes property from them at will. And it's not just our government, but look at France. They believe they have 75% interest in your labor. You get 25% of your work after they're done working at the end of the day. Here? It's running about 60% when you factor in federal, state, city, property, school, sales taxes, fees, fines, fuel taxes etc.
I determine what powers the constitution grants the government by reading it. It's listed. Actually listed. Which branch would you like to know about and I'll get you the exact list of each branch.
Obamacare was ruled as a tax, violating the constitution completely. It wasn't argued as a tax, Roberts merely decided to change the discussion at will with no power to do so. If he didn't believe it was what Obama was claiming it was, then it should have been struck down. But then again, the Court did this on Roe Vs Wade as well. Insert power where they have none.
I am willing to hear other viewpoints and corrections. I amend my views accordingly. Unless you expressly argue the constitution on federal powers, nothing you say has merit. I hate to be that blunt but it is fact. If you're talking federal powers, and you're using anything but the constitution and that alone, you are discussing things in which you have no knowledge. Kind of like if I tried to tell you how to work on a car. I can tell you I read a great book on it, watched a movie about mechanics but unless I have the actual working knowledge of the vehicle I'm giving you second and third hand information that may or may not be correct. And if I tell you to fix the radiator you have to start tearing apart the transmission because someone in Iran said....you get my point. Constitution is the only document with supreme authority over our federal government. No case law can override it, no law can supercede it, nothing.
I know the Blaze is owned by Beck. I don't watch Beck however I do read the Blaze.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool
