There was a thread when it happened.

Laughner was a registered republican who was described by classmates as either neither right or left, or extreme left wing. Either way, in his case political views didn't mean anything as he was found to be a nut and very anti government. I read some about him and he just came off as insane and evil, much like Mcveigh did, or Manson before him. Evil is evil, crazy is crazy, and neither are bound by political divides.
