Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery" ... Winston Churchill
As much as I agree with what he said, I do not agree with when and where.
"It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
Everytime some liberal movie star got on stage to accept an award they took a shot a Bush. Kanye did just that during the Katrina fundraiser. Although I believe Toys for Tots should not be overshadowed by anything else...good for R. Lee Ermey. When else will he get the medium to say how he realy feels.

Well fuck... I guess that makes it all the better!
Last time I checked Kanye wasn't promoting Toys For Tots and didn't have Marines surrounding him listening to someone bad mouth their Commander In Chief.
Shit like this is no better than the "liberals" doing the shit during times when politics have no place in the purpose of the event. But, hey, the wingers are with the message... so it's ok.
His "message" is against the stated objective of Toys For Tots:
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
Should we not be united in our hate for Barrack Obama? We should!
J/K I don't think he should have said that while in that setting. Sure the supposedly progressive people show their lack of class by doing the same thing all the time. Doesn't make it appropriate.
And I like Lee Ermey, he is a real nice guy at any appearance, he makes it a point to talk to every child in sight.

What's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?

Voting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.
I don't care if they are "on board" or not. Toys for Tots is not a political platform.
I respect the guy ALOT, hell if you had the choice of a USO visit from the Gunny or from Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield when I was in you wanted the mofucking Gunny . That being said you're right there's no reason risk adversely affecting T4T by politicizing it. At the very least it would have barely helped the drive this year, at the very worst it could have alienated some people who would have donated and end up fucking some kids out of toys.
Well fuck... I guess that makes it all the better!

No, he was promoting a Hurricane Katrina Victim fundraiser, and he had a much, much larger audience.
I dont agree with where R Lee Ermey decided to voice his opinions solely due to Toys for Tots, IMO, needing to remain politically unbiased. It's a non-profit charity. Leave it that way. The one thing the more vocal Left Proponents do repeatedly is speak out in places/positions where they need to keep their mouths shut. It's starting to wear thin, and people are beginning to ignore it and even speak out against the grand-standing bullshit that marks the liberals... the last thing the Reps need is to be aligned with that sort of dumbassery.

I can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. LMAO!!

Who was running the Hurricane Katrina Victim fundraiser?
