This is why we need term limits in the congress. There shouldn't be career politicians. Cut back their salaries limit the time they can be there. If they weren't so worried about getting back their jobs they wouldn't pull this sort of shit. Our problem isn't a tax problem. its a spending problem.

Frost brought up this idea in another thread and it's a good one in my opinion. Cut every federal agency, department, and program by 1%. I would then propose to continue to do the same every year for the following ten years and see where that gets us.

Well, I'm just shocked that they just came out with an agreement that doesn't cut spending a bit.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I'm just shocked that they'll reach a deal at the last minute. Doesn't seem at all scripted or anything.
Just skimmed the article on Yahoo, but didn't catch anything on the AMT patch. Anyone know whether the income limits will be patched or, god forbid, indexed for inflation once and for all?- Darrell

Was just ranting on that point to the wife, who hadn't really thought of that angle. Doesn't that constitute a 'revision' and not an actual cut?

1. Short the vix
2. Make it train
Put my short vix on Friday, choooooo$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ chooooo$$$$$$$$Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Tax breaks expire so that they can negotiate a reduction in rates. It will be higher obviously, but then they can all say they reduced taxes and can't be blamed for pushing for a tax increase.
