Fall of the cliff, not fall of the cliff, the idiots who voted for this dipshit will still blame Republicans and the Republican Congress. It's a lose/lose. Fuck it, let us fall off and let EVERYONE pay.

It sure sucks being a working class blue collar idiot that didn't vote for him!

This is why we need term limits in the congress. There shouldn't be career politicians. Cut back their salaries limit the time they can be there. If they weren't so worried about getting back their jobs they wouldn't pull this sort of shit. Our problem isn't a tax problem. its a spending problem.

Frost brought up this idea in another thread and it's a good one in my opinion. Cut every federal agency, department, and program by 1%. I would then propose to continue to do the same every year for the following ten years and see where that gets us.

See... a business would do that. What happened in 2008? Layoffs and cutbacks in spending.

                But that makes sense...

Well, I'm just shocked that they just came out with an agreement that doesn't cut spending a bit.

I'm just shocked that they'll reach a deal at the last minute. Doesn't seem at all scripted or anything.

Just skimmed the article on Yahoo, but didn't catch anything on the AMT patch. Anyone know whether the income limits will be patched or, god forbid, indexed for inflation once and for all?

Not even smoke filled cuts in future spending?

Was just ranting on that point to the wife, who hadn't really thought of that angle. Doesn't that constitute a 'revision' and not an actual cut?

The House of Representatives won't vote on any plans to avert the fiscal cliff on Monday, leaders have told members.

                          per CNN at 3:09 cst.

At this point I don't even care anymore. I wish the pitch fork mob would show up in D.C. and throw all of them out. Of course this will never happend, but one can dream can't they.

Tax breaks expire so that they can negotiate a reduction in rates. It will be higher obviously, but then they can all say they reduced taxes and can't be blamed for pushing for a tax increase.
