        Because of the amount we borrow, plus we are the safest bet ever and will continue to be so as long as we can print our own cash.

              Even if they passed this "cliff," nothing would happen. Business would continue as normal, with the exception of those making a mint off of speculation.

              Will all this eventually come to a horrific end? Yep, but not by this "cliff's" deadline.

                    When you owe $100,000 it is your problem. When you owe $1,000,000,000,000 it is everybody's problem. China will continue to lend us money because if they don't our country will collapse and take them down with us.

                                This is exactly correct. This is a politically convenient way to raise taxes on the poor and the middle class. All they have to do is nothing and point their fingers at the other guy.

                                I'm kind of amused at the sheep. Owebama just went through a whole election cycle claiming that the Bush tax cuts benefited the rich. Anyone with a brain who has ever done their own taxes knows that is a lie. Chiefly because of the marriage penalty that will go back into effect once the cuts expire. I think it is great that the scumbags and the working class blue collar idiots who voted for this elitist moron are going to get hit in the wallet the most.
