i just think a shit load more folks would turn over their guns when confronted by a military type force then you guys give credit for. hopefully i am wrong, even more so i hope that this is a moot point and will never happen in the first place. i agree it'd be bloody, but after talking to folks about an AR ban and hearing how many of them agree with that, its hard to imagine where that mentality stops.

If you talk to people who don't own them, then you will have people who won’t fight for them.

I would like to take this time to tell my government this. I have NO guns, I am completely disarmed. So there is no reason to come to my door and ask for my guns.

Prob not a bad idea 4bangen, but I'm sure a short search on the site could prove that untrue! I do find it odd though that the same place that has folks jumping ship to Australia, talking about how doomed we are, about increased gov control, about the majority of folks being freeloaders, etc., are so sure the country would never trample on our gun rights.

if or when the haves have enough and are forced to take the power back from the have nots how do you see the government, that is in place due to the massive number of have nots, responding?

We just learned the majority of the nation supports NDAA, SOPA, NSA, TSA, Homeland security, etc. some 60 million folks just voted for it.

If our government is truly desiring to come after the weapons of the citizens in this country then it is driven by arrogance and an assumption that people have given up. Would everyone fight? No. But then again, there wouldn't be a full enforcement by the police or military either.

If there is a total of 5 million individuals between police and military, maybe 25% would comply with the order to go door to door. They don't have the luxury of employing guerrilla tactics because they aren't trained in that capacity and aren't fighting for their way of life. So if a mere 1% fought back, this would embolden the rest and the government would have massive problems on their hands.

So for every wannabe thug online that talks about blowing shit up there are probably 10 crazy fuckers that actually would.

the only reason i don't think they'd try it is because without their tax mules (aka the haves) the gov. could no longer continue to operate (or at least not for long.

if they banned them and went out and said it was 10yrs in prison and 500k fine if caught, then offered 5k for information that leads to hidden weapons i think there would be a large number of people who would give them and/or rat.

10 years ago i'd never have thought our citizens would carry out indefinite detention without trial, but we got there. i don't disagree that it seems far fetched at this moment, but the government slowly, but surely, eases us out of our rights. this for the most part eliminates a large coordinated uprising, and allows them the upper hand.

Well, if the perception is that we have nothing to lose, then people will go off the reservation.

So, no comment on what super body armor and weapons the military has that are high tech and not purchasable by the public? We're still using WW1 and Vietnam era weapons. Back up your statements.

That article reads like a bunch of Milquetoast faggotry. You can bet your ass just as Middle Eastern Terrorist groups have sleeper cells, so do God fearing "Christian" groups here in the States. There will be stand offs and bloodshed. Look at what Koresh did with a bunch of rag tags against the ATF.

You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state of the art automatic weapons and the best body armor you cannot buy protected by armed personnel carriers and attack helicopters unless you choose to die that day -- for nothing.

You will either be in the country or out, and if you are in, you will stay in and you will comply.
Actually, I disagree with this. At that point, it will be total anarchy, a revolutionary war. The images of American citizens getting blown up for defending their property and Constitutional rights is not going to be well received in this country.
