  • Cutbacks, closures and layoffs

Keep in mind these are just since Tuesday. Handful of big names. Sad, but this is just the beginning.

Nothing cool as far as a car goes, but if you want photos of your ride...I can handle that. Check out my Facebook page if you're bored.

Three of those - RIM, Vestas, and Darden were already in trouble well before the election.

This doesn't include small companies either. Keep organizing the chairs and make sure the band is playing.

RIM has been circling the bowl for a while.

Lots of medical supply companies including Stryker, Hill Rom, Welch Allyn, etc are laying off due to the medical device tax. All the big pacemaker companies are laying off people

I work for a medical imaging device manufacturer and we've had several layoffs this year. Honestly, I expect there will be more. The device tax hurts, but just like any tax, it eventually is paid by the end user (the patient). What's hurting us now is the hospital's reluctance to plunk down several million in capital investment while reimbursement rates are up in the air. Many facilities are sitting on older technology while waiting to see how this whole mess shakes out....
