The problem your theory has is you still have to keep your base. The idea we can cross the aisle and start adding liberal ideology to attract voters isn't going to work. There are more liberal-minded people voting now, there are more people who are willing to not work and leech from the people who do work, and they are voting to KEEP leeching. Conservatives are outnumbered, people who give a fuck about the Constitution are outnumbered and will continue to be outnumbered until this country burns down like Greece. There will never be another true conservative in office in my opinion.

The Republican's position is not to eliminate abortion. Unfortunately the sensational fear tactics you cheerlead are misrepresented. The republican's position is not to have state sponsored and tax paid abortions (it is a federal law in place). Most conservatives when asked will tell you they are pro-life, but they all do not wish to push that belief onto citizens. What you are attemping to do is take a candidate (who lost, and was reprimanded by the GOP, who is the party you're attempting to place blame on).

The GOP platform stated no abortions. Multiple candidates made stupid comments that can be taken to directly tie into this position.

Why would I deny his comments? He said stupid things, he lost his election. I did not support these stupid ass comments.

He lost yes but what hurt the GOP was the lackluster response and the delay in that response. If they would have come out and actively opposed him it would have helped alot. The whole GOP should have been hammering him hard and kicked him out of the GOP. This would have made a difference and would have helped the "there is no war against women" stance.

Rubio and Rand are two great choices from that list. Christie and Jindel are too, but not as much and everyone else is wasting their time. The GOP doesn't need to win in Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas. Huckabee, Bush and some of those others if they actually care about the country need to stay home and do their own thing. Yes there is a place for them in the party, but it isn't as a presidential nominee. To even list them makes me question the person who wrote the article.

I told you guys months ago that the GOP wasn't going to push too hard to win because they don't want the coming collapse hanging around their necks. Look for a last minute fix on the fiscal cliff and then let Obama wear the next 2 years of rising unemployment and taxes that are going to cripple our economy. It will be a "well, you got what you asked for" sort of thing. Then the impeachment hearings SHOULD start...not sure they will though.

Looking ahead to 2014 for the house/senate elections and then on to 2016, the GOP has GOT to stop clinging to the religious right's stance on abortion. They need to get over it and make up their minds, are they more concerned with saving babies, or being broke eating out of trash cans when our country crumbles financially. They also need to let go of the fight against gay marriage. Who cares who someone beds down with...let them marry a sheep or a rock if they want to. As long as they are producing, and not taking gov't assistance and paying taxes into the bucket, who cares?

If the GOP is going to recover from this paper defeat and put an end to all the liberal media's coordinated attacks, they need to stop making a big deal of the emotional social topics the center of discussion. If tomorrow, the GOP said, Gays can marry and be equal citizens, women, if you MUST have an abortion, fine, just please consider those that may adopt. Then what if anything does the democratic party have to stand on? NOTHING!!! Take the wind out of their sails, empty their tank of fuel to fight. Give them nothing to complain about. Once the financial situation falls apart and the democrats get blamed for it, the morons will come back to voting for financial solutions.


If the GOP continues offering the most extreme opposite of the leftist dumbasses, all they are doing is putting themselves in a hole to start from. If all the hippies can no longer bitch and complain about GOP candidates wanting to end abortion, then candidates won't have to dance around the question when asked and that 800lb gorilla in the corner can NEVER again be an october surprise.

Now, to fix the voter participation issue, make super tuesday a national holiday so people won't have an excuse not to vote. Have a poll tax (not likely) and the receipt for voting gets a tax credit. proceeds go to the local election boards to fund their additional needs for accuracy and such. Then ID voters...seems even the UN thinks our process needs that improvement! LOL!

Lastly, we need another Reagan. Someone that both sides have NOTHING to question and is wise and well respected for being a great man. Someone who has no ties to ANYTHING the left can get behind to fight against. This person should be a libertarian. The GOP needs to embrace the tea party and the libertarian way of thinking and they will win over the left voters who are always on the fence or just indecisive.

Sadly, I think both sides are too damn stubborn to realize this and we, the citizens, are going to pay the price just as every other sinking nation in the world is experiencing right now....if not worse because the bigger they are, the harder they fall. The great depression will look like a keg party compared to what is coming.
