There was a time when unions were useful, that was when there were major laws being broken and laborers being treated like shit. That was 50 years ago. I think with minimum wage, and all of the EEOC laws in effect today the unions have no bearing except to make people lazy and take advantage of the system. We aren't running sweat shops here, there's no need. If someone is qualified for a job they should get it, if they deserve a raise, they should get it. If they don't agree or don't like the job, then get a new one! Right to work > Union.

Every one of those jobs can be done without a union, cheaper, better and more efficiently. Proof? Military isn't union and build shit daily. You see, you can't go to your employer and work out merit pay or a raise. You have to balance your skills with the laziest and most dumbfuck there. Unions don't allow individualism, it's uniformity. Fuck that.
I get paid. Fairly well as a matter of fact. No union required.I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

it's not michelle_p money but $46 an hour http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_d..._new_york_city
vs. alabamas $22 an hour http://www.gobuildalabama.com/trades/
starts to make a little more sense.. now when you put 6 guys in a truck and hotel room, there is money to be made.. especially when there in no work in alabama..
ya'll have to realize that this is what i do for a living, it is my livelihood, i know how the building trades work inside and out. if you think a non union guy walks around on ANY jobsite with his chin in the air trying to call shots you are sorely confused.. they are quiet keep to themselves and wont even look a union man in the eye.. oh and they pay for health care out of their own paychecks LOLTHE BAD HOMBRE
