I see the dim light, it's at the end of the tunnel in November

After the next two debates, it will be a 60" CARBON ARC SEARCHLIGHT

Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

Unions don't decide who they're going to protect? They don't marginalize workers who don't toe the line?

Yes, unions are NEVER violent. I'll just leave this here:

How nasty can union violence get and still be legal? Now a labor racketeering case against one of the biggest building trade union in New York promises to clarify just how far union violence can go without becoming illegal--if not at the polling place, at least on the work site.

They're not telling anyone how to vote. Unions have done this since their creation. They use member's dues for massive democrat campaign contributions, but never "confer" with its' members. They thrive on scare tactics to get them to vote their way, and always have. If members don't like it, they can leave. I'm beginning to question your intelligence now, or at least you ability to reason things out.

Willie we both know thats crap. My union starts their political scare tactics about 12 months in advance every election.

"Vote democrat or else we may not be able to protect you from the evil managers!!"

There are alot of plus sides to the union but I tell them to piss off about this time of year, they are 10 times worse than the company.

Your union might have been different. Mine did very little pressuring.

I DO understand that unions up north are a lot tougher on members, but all the money goes into the same till.

With this I can only go with my experience. Do unions have their flaws? Sure but they have benefits also. If it wasn't for unions there wouldn't be a middle class. That's why they have been so vilified in the last 30 years. The rich have been attacking the middle class for 30 years and the first thing that has to go is unions.

They've been vilified for 30 years, because they haven't been necessary for 30 years (or longer). There are too many examples of large companies floundering for years due to unions and the obligations that come with them.

And you don't think that the second they went away that all the gains they fought so hard to make would go away?
40 hour work week? Slave you will work till I tell you to go home for the same money or you will be on the street.
Vacation? Sure take a permanent vacation.
Raise? Be happy you have a job and I don't take half your pay.
                            Company store? Yep
                            Company town? check!
If you don't think that would happen you haven't been paying attention. Ethics in this country have went to shit. Look at Enron, Madoff, Lehman bros, the list is endless and is normally driven by the super wealthy with no morals.

There is no difference between some/most of the super rich now and the robber barons of the 1800's

It still happening. That union guarantees you nothing. I never worked for a union, and had plenty of perks. I was rewarded on MY work and production and was not rewarded nor limited, by someone else. Unions are still killing AA and GM, whether you want to admit or not. Teacher and public servant unions are killing the upper half of this nation.
