I definitely couldn't form a house hold with someone on the opposite side of the political spectrum. Fuck a bunch of that.

Ask her where the hope and change is.

Ask her where the transparency is.

Ask her why the great uniter had been nothing but the biggest divider.

Ask her why his campaign isn't running on their record, but only trying to smear the Romney campaign in the most vile ways ever seen on the political stage.

Ask her why government should demand that you purchase something and, if not, pay a fine for not doing so. Then ask her if she even knows what you're referring to.

Ask her why he tried to block the release of the White House visitor logs and went to court to do so. Then ask her why he claimed, after being forced to release them, that he was just proving how transparent his administration has been. Then ask her why there are so many labor union bosses on those visitor logs and why a lot of labor unions have gotten a pass from the Obamacare mandates. Then ask her why, after being forced to release the visitor logs, his administration began having those same meetings in public places to avoid having to disclose them.

Ask her why his association with Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko are either considered to be "off-limits" or inconsequential.

Ask why it is OK to appoint a proven tax cheat to be the Treasury Secretary, but Mitt Romney paying 15% in capitol gains taxes is a treasonous act.

Ask why he still makes mention of GWB raising our debt $5t in eight years when he's raised it almost $6t in less than 4.

Ask her why, after over three years of the recession officially ending, the unemployment rate hasn't dropped even a single percentage point.

Ask why he claims the bailout of GM to be a smashing success when we're still owed $25b from them and, according to recent reports, Obama might have to bail them out yet again.

Better yet, don't ask her anything. Just tell her since she probably cannot process all of those questions. It's all facts. I know there are more reasons, but that's just shit off the top of my head.

Oh, here's another one. Ask her to watch the "Life of Julia" slideshow. Then ask her why Obama has been President for her entire life.

That 14 percent tax add makes me cringe, because I know it's working on the ignorant masses. These morons should realize that one man just paid more in taxes in one year than their entire household will in a lifetime. But yeah, he's "killing the middle class" lol.

I'm in the same boat as you. My wife's whole family is deeply embedded in Democratic thinking. For the longest time I had faith that my wife would see the light, but in retrospect she's believed the same about me. You probably aren't going to changer her opinion, no matter how much common sense you throw out on the table (just like she won't change yours). Politics is one of the only things my wife and I fight about, so we just try to avoid it. When it does come up, we agree to drop it when things start getting heated.

My brother-in-law and I got in a pretty heated debate about this very thing. That reminds me, I need to show him my tax returns. He doesn't believe how our effective tax rate was so much less then his since we make a lot more. Let's see ...

He's single, rents a house, has ZERO write-offs.
I'm married, have 2 kids, FSA's, 401K's, etc, am 4 years into a large house note (lots of interest!), and have a rent house I purposely take a loss on every year.

Of course his comeback will be about how that's the fucked up Republican way and how the rich get ahead because we don't pay our "fair share".

This thread made me think of this post I saw on FB yesterday

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100...

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this...

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing. The fifth would pay $1. The sixth would pay $3. The seventh would pay $7.. The eighth would pay $12. The ninth would pay $18. The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

                S
o, that's what they decided to do..

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve ball. "Since you are all such good customers," he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20". Drinks for the ten men would now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men ? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his fair share?

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.

So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by a higher percentage the poorer he was, to follow the principle of the tax system they had been using, and he proceeded to work out the amounts he suggested that each should now pay.

And so the fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% saving). The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33% saving). The seventh now paid $5 instead of $7 (28% saving). The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% saving). The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% saving). The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% saving).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But, once outside the bar, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20 saving," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,"but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar too. It's unfair that he got ten times more benefit than me!"

"That's true!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back, when I got only $2? The wealthy get all the breaks!"

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison, "we didn't get anything at all. This new tax system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had their beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and government ministers, is how our tax system works. The people who already pay the highest taxes will naturally get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas, where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

I told her she was talking out her ass, and to sit and watch the debates with me, and watch Obama and Biden collectively shit bricks when Romney and Ryan tear them a new one.

Until then, I need some help from the political lone rangers on here. Help me convince her, before the debates, that Obama is the worst choice for president (again), and what he has/hasn't done for our country, and what Romney plans to do....you know the drill.

Facts only, this is a woman we're talking about here...opinions don't mean shit...lol
Ask her why she trusts 0bama considering all the broken election promises and lies, and then force her to clarify on the "stuff" she claims he has done.

To be honest, there is no way in hell I could be in a relationship, other than just being a fuck-buddy, any woman that supports 0bama. And the fuck-buddy thing would be more of a grudge-fuck, "make her wear a toilet seat around her neck while sucking my dick" type of thing.

                        Not to mention this:

He paid 30 plus % the first time he made the money through the corporation, then when he invested it, he paid another 15% on top of that. And anything he did with those profits are again taxed at 15% when he reinvests it and makes a profit.

You want emotion? Tell her Obama cut 716 billion from medicare last year AND cut home heating and cooling subsidies for old people by 50%.

The effective tax rate on corp profits paid out as dividends is 44.75%. The best is when people say the investor didn't really pay the corporate tax b/c the company did.
