Paul Ryan rips Obama’s comment that ‘if you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that

You see, this is what is wrong with this country today. When people stand for what they believe in, they get bashed for not going with the flow and just sucking it up. There was a time that standing up for and staying firm in your beliefs and morals made this country into a great super power that it once was. Over the last few decades this pride in oneself and their beliefs has been discouraged and has slacked off. Now look at where we are at. Coincidence? I think not.

Oh that's right, I shouldn't think like that. I should forget about standing up for what I believe in, toss my morals out the window, and just vote for the one. Yes, I am old fashioned in this respect and proud of it. I am proud to try to return my country to it's once greatness as opposed to just going with the flow and watching her die in agony. If you're to shallow to understand what I just typed then just move along, keep doing what you're doing and see where this gets you.

Right. You stood up for Paul. He lost. Now you're saying you're going to lay down in a corner and refuse to vote. Doesn't sound like standing with your morals. I think a lot of Dr. Paul's followers are just like Dr. Paul, in that there's no "gray" area. Everything involving government is black or white, and they want it all RIGHT NOW. The problem is that we didn't get into this situation over night, and it won't be resolved over night. "Right now", I can accept a few baby steps in the right direction. The "right direction" is getting Barry out ASAP. You have to walk before you can run...

And that even if Paul was voted in president, he couldn't do the majority of the things he wants to. Limitations of the president and all.

As I already stated earlier in this thread, I am in a swing state right now and will be here for about a month or so. While I'm here I am talking to people and getting them to think about their vote. Who are they voting for, why are they voting this way, and are things better for them now compared to 4 years ago amongst other things? I am not pushing my ideals on them as libs tend to shut down when you force things so I am merely getting them to think about who they are going to vote for. I've dealt with libs, I was married to one for several years. In that time I learned how to talk politics with them without pushing them away and I am now putting that to use here.

I served my country, like you, and did my time in the military before I was discharged. Granted, I never took a bullet to the head but I would still be in today if it were not for getting injured. That's all I'm gonna say about that.




Everyone has a different way of doing things. If we all did things identical then we would not be in the U.S.A., but rather we would be in some socialist nation where you have no right to think however you want to. I have my own way of trying to help get Obama out of office which could very well results in a bigger difference then just one vote in a state where one less vote wouldn't matter. As I already stated, if I lived in a state that could go either way then I would hold my nose and vote for Romney.

Now would you anti Paul people lay off? Accept for this sentence I did not bring up his name, say that I'm butt hurt about him not getting the nomination, or anything like that. You guys say that Ron Paul fans have a fixation on him? You guys that keep bringing him up are over the top in the opposite direction!!

I appreciate the response. However that really didn't address it. I've been talking before congress. My Congressman knows me by name and I've sat in his office in Dallas AND DC. Have you actually sat with yours and explained your positions and tried to get them to change?

No, I can't say that I have gone that route. It's kinda hard to do that when I'm out of town for months at a time with work. Granted, I could call but I have not done that either.

You can call, email and write. Make yourself known to your congresscritter on the State and federal level. Hell, I signed up to the GOA so I know anytime anti gun stuff comes up so I can blast them. It requires a few seconds to do and you stand out because you actually speak up. And if they have to defend their actions to you as a person, they tend to at least try to think through their actions
