You've actually read this thread, and you can honestly say "I don't see a bit of hate?"

Edit: Nevermind, you're the guy that compared being gay to being an incestual pedophile who likes beastiality.

I don't see a bit of hate, I see a demand for respect for the rights and privacy of straights as well as gays.

Didn't realize that not hating middle eastern people and gays made me a "liberal," but ok.

Well at least we know who the liberals are around here. kimmypie, gsxrguy, exdude, lason, and a few others. Good to know where people stand. Not really bashing them, just trying to get a feel for their point of view and future conversations we may have.

Like Yale said, DADT or not...the gays were still already in and it didn't make much of a difference then. I don't see why them being open about it would affect that much, aside from some added prejudice against them.
I have ex military in my family & they basically say they all know they served with gays. They don't/didn't care about sexual orientation. My step-dad in particular made the comment that he'd rather have a gay guy who has nothing to lose backing him up in battle than a guy with a huge family who is more concerned about covering his own ass.

Or wait, maybe its more like..

You're right! Those people should be allowed every right that the rest of society enjoys! Just because you don't agree with their choice doesn't make it wrong! They have no choice in the matter! They're born incestuous!
Exactly. Their sexual deviation is a product of birth, not choice so we must allow them to be openly anything they are.

Nope, not grasping at straws at all. The UCMJ looks down on any form of deviation from the 'norm'. From sex to actions unbecoming. And pedophiles and incestuous actors and people who fuck sheep, all have been in the military, we just don't ask and they don't tell. Same thing. Hell, there are even murderers and some arsonists and just about every kind of law breaker you can fit your head around. Do we ask them? Nope. It's not pertient. However, if you're for allowing everyone to be open with whom they are, then it only makes sense to let everyone be open about who they are in every situation.

You know what? I don't feel this uniform reflects who I am as a person. I think next formation I'm going to bleach it a bit to make it less dark and moody.

Which way are you going with this? Civilian laws or UCMJ? Your grabbing at straws trying to rationilize this.

You're grasping at straws. And you're also deviating from the point of the thread. Gays have always been in the military... it's just been "don't ask, don't tell." Let me ask you a question; Let's pretend that gay marriage is legalized in TX. A gay couple moves in down the street from you. There is also a house down the street where you know for a fact there is an incestual father/daughter relationship going on. Would you not report the incest, just because it's cool for the gay guys to be there?

Edit: Better question; If gay marriage wasn't legal here and there was the same scenario on your street... are you telling me that you consider those offenses to be of equal severity?
