Considering that I haven't said anything about christianity, or it's god, in this thread, your premise does not hold.

Even my initial point was to bring up the fact that I can find no source for the Benjamin Franklin quote and would like to have one provided. I, in that same post, showed how the evidence I've found indicates that he said no such thing.

I did not comment on Franklin's religious beliefs, nor did I comment on the validity of any supernatural claim.

In my second post (the one responding to you), I did nothing but clarify what atheism is. From then on, I've allowed you to guide the conversation. So, if it moves to a religious debate, that will be your doing, not mine.

Well, seeing as how you quote mined that particular part out, I don't need to explain how it's wrong, the next sentence in the passage adds clarification. The earth is still here, so there's no reason to believe that the old laws have been fulfilled.

Your understanding of what was written in that passage is lacking.

Edit: it is possible, that given the post times a ninja edit was performed by SS junk. If that's the case, then it wasn't quote mined per se by frost, but that short passage was taken out of context.

Not at all. Christ came and fulfilled the law. Perhaps you should read the book before criticizing it. I don't claim perfect understanding. That comes with study. I do claim to know what it says and my understanding thereof.

Id agree but i was referring to the aim of religion , not really how it turns out in the real world . And it seems when most people attack religion they attack its aim . They dont like to think that there may be anyone out there who could teach them a thin or two about how to live their lives .

Not necessarily . Many (if not all) religions (at least the ones that have enough influence to matter) share the same basic beliefs . Dont steal . Dont murder . Dont cheat your fellow man .

Religion, like politics, exists to control the masses. Nothing else.
With that said, I have close friends that are Christians and I respect their beliefs...we just do not discuss that topic.
