It's funny, I love God and hate religion.

Let me make it plain and simple to everyone that worships what they worship......You do not have the answer. You have a belief. Your belief may be wrong or right. There may actually be no God. There may be nothing after you die. Aliens might have made you out of a scientific fuckup. you may be a plague. then again.......fucking dinosaurs may have been placed there to test your faith and magic underwear may actually be real.
-sigh- i dunno.....that's all i know.

Because religion is made by man and fucked up by us as well. Having a faith or belief isn't a bad thing, it is quite pure, until some asshole decides to create a doctrine. I think the really sad fact is with a lot of mega-churches that the pastors are larger than life personalities that manifest their own slant and people buy into it and become so unbelievably intolerant of anyone else - including others that go to different churches. The act of just believing doesn't go far enough and churches need brands and unique identies and are crossing over into cults and not a single one of the attendees sees how alienating, intolerant, or foolish they look.

Case in point - I have a friend McKinney that always retweets his pastor's quotes, points out how he faithfully gives over and above his tithe, is one of the first to step up and donate when others are in need and the dude lives in a shitty apartment pissing away his money instead of investing it into his home that he owns and actually building a financial future. Other than that, requoting catch phrases does nothing to sway people not involved in the mega-cult he is part of.
