Has he ever said everyone should refuse their SS checks? How does wanting to revamp the system, but collecting the money he HAS PAID into it make him a hypocrite? And the term limits things? LOL, please tell me how he is going to effect a change on that if he isn't in office? Being a hypocrite would mean he was successful in getting them enacted, but then tried to stay in office after his term expired. You're REALLY reaching.

Geez guys, you know I don't agree with paying SS, and despite the fact I have paid unwillingly for my entire working career, when it is my turn to collect the money I paid into it, I am going to tell you to shove it up your ass and keep it! Yeah, that'll learn them!

No, if he believed in the 10th amendment, as he states he does and has worked to show he does, then he'd have run for Texas governor or even Lt. Governor and effected change there. He calls for actions while exempting himself from it

Saying "we shouldn't have to pay into this bullshit system, but since I did, I'm going to get back as much of it as I put in as I can" isn't hypocritical. Saying "we shouldn't have to pay into this bullshit system, but I did, and when they try to give me my money back, I'll let them keep it" is fucking stupid.

Actually, if he had the backbone Paulbots credit him with, he'd have put up a bill doing away with Social Security, the Fed and installing term limits.

Exactly. I can see the angle they are shooting for and I can also see how this appears at first glance, but really just about anyone with even a small amount of good sense can figure out this is an awful example of government officials "saying one thing and doing the other". It's also worth noting that Paul is one of only two members in Congress who doesn't participate in the very generous retirement program. Of course that has nothing to do with the real intent of the article. Knock the man for his fumbling of words, age, or racist/nazi past. I don't agree with SS either however if you put a gun to my head for 50yrs. and force me to pay and then I take my money back when I turn 65 doesn't prove I or anyone who pays into SS for that matter, is a hypocrite.

If that is your point, then feel free to complain about why he hasn't, but your attempt to call him a hypocrite for your listed reasons is ridiculous and full of holes.

Really? If anyone in government has been more vocal about our federal reserve system I'd love to know their name.

Term limits, 1970s: Paul was the first member of Congress to propose term limits legislation in the House,[54] one of several bills considered "ahead of their time" by Texas Monthly magazine.

                        Absolutely silly argument.....

If you had an option to pay into it then by all means throw a fit, but he just like the rest of us are forced to...

You know, in the interest of fairness, I do like how he explained it.

During an early morning interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Ron Paul tried to educate the Mika Brzezinski-led panel on American freedom vs dependence on government. “Morning Joe” regular panel member Mike Barnicle chimed in, asking Mr. Paul a curious question:

“Do you feel, in speaking to this next generation that you just spoke of, any obligation to talk to them, perhaps instruct them about the fact that there has been a social contract among Americans from one generation to another to help those that need help the most?”

The Congressman and perennial Presidential candidate delivered a clear and concise reply that started with his shooting down Barnicle’s alleged “fact” about a social contract. (There is no such thing in our Constitution.)

And then, the interview took on a more confrontational tone as another MSNBC regular, Sam Stein of the Huffington Post asked Ron Paul if and why he takes Social Security checks. Mr. Paul answered by educating Stein that there is a difference between something like Food Stamps and Social Security.

Watch the exchange, including Brzezinski’s abrupt ending of the segment:
                          I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

There are plenty of reasons to criticize RP - this isn't one of them.
