Indiana to allow shooting at cops

As a LEO, I don't like this law. Not that I stomp on civil liberties or don't follow the 4th amendment to best of my understanding, but this law will just get a bunch of people killed. Someone said it earlier, If LEOs are going into a house there will be a bunch of us. If shots are fired, there will be return fire until rounds stop coming. When LEOs enter a home they are not going in to kill, they are going into take control of the situation and serve the warrant. Now if entry is illegal then let the courts sort it out. If illegal all evidence gained will be thrown out and charges will be dropped. Even 100% guilty criminal all say they are absolutely innocent when every encountered by LE. So in their minds if they think they are innocent, then any entry is considered unlawful to them and they may start sending rounds down range. All you guys that think this is a good law, just understand you will be dead as well and won't be able to get on DFWmustangs.net and post how you defended your home and were justified. So be careful what you wish for.

All its going to take is one bad incident where a bunch of people die for this legislation to be repealed.

As stated earlier I am for 100% for home owners to defend themselves and their property, but government is not going into someones home without probable cause and definitely not going in to kill the occupants.

Perhaps you haven't heard of criminals wearing SWAT shirts and POLICE shirts and kicking down doors knowing they won't be shot at and killing everyone inside before stealing stuff. Tell me, if you're in bed asleep and someone kicks in your door, you know you've done nothing wrong, are you going to meet force with force or are you going to let some goons in black point rifles at your wife and kids?

Edited to add: Sometimes, the cost of liberty is blood. That's how it works. If my life ensures my son doesn't have cops kicking in his doors in violation of the constitution, ensures that every cop thinks twice about making sure this is the right address, then it's a life well spent.

You have to be kidding ? goverment enters home illegally on a regular basis thats the only reason the stupid law had to be made. I hope the entire nation follows suit. Very simple , you guys make triple sure your shit is together and this will not be an issue.

We have the right to protect our property. That's it. Correct address, no problem. Just like if we don't break law, we aren't at risk of getting into a bad situation wih leo's.
