Because the Saiga was created to get around the "sporting" ban. The ATF stated any imported weapon with a pistol grip is not a sporting shotgun, so they put a standard stock on the Saiga and skirted the law. Naturally this pisses off the ATF so they want to just flat out say anything with a magazine is not sporting (it's all to get the Saiga).

I know a guy that uses his Saiga for everything from bird hunting (with blocked magazine), to clay shooting, to target shooting to hunting larger deer sized game.

You can certainly do it if you want.

Ah, so it's simply a control thing. Thank you for the insight.

Around 650ish. They were cheaper but the importer changed. I am sure they will be going up just because there is a hint of a ban. It is a fun little shotty though.

Mine was $700 at the beginning of April. At the last gun show, I didn't see any for less than $900 and most were asking $1100.

Next thing you know they will be trying to ban our compound shotguns.

A compound bow converted to a 12ga shotgun. Keeps you from losing your arrows.

A Genesis used is $10-$30 if it comes with both controllers

I wonder what kills more people in the US? Texting while driving or shotguns with box mags.
