Doug has a framed newspaper on the wall of his office about the conviction being overturned. He brags that anyone can send a guilty man to death row but it takes a bad mother fucker to send an innocent man to his death.
IMO he should be tried for murder! Especially after bragging about that. What kind of person could live with themselves after doing that....

      Adams wasn't executed.

True, but it doesn't negate what he was saying. I've also heard/read the statement that was proferred...

Mulder is arrogant but very well connected and doing quite well in private practice from what I recall.

I'm pretty sure it negates trying someone for murder if no one was killed.

I'll agree on politician or DA, PO from what I've seen runs about 50-50. There are some good ones and some REALLY bad ones.
From what I've seen Matt, osiris, and Tanner are some of the good ones.

We could parse this to death and never agree, though I suppose what would help us to determine the validity of either of our stances would be the date this purported statement was uttered. If Doug made this statement prior to the overturning of the verdict it would be valid, as at that point he would still be en-route to his death, based on the timeline at that time and not what we now know. Regardless, the fact that he knowingly sent an innocent man into what, at the time of the verdict, was to be his death does not "cause to be ineffective or invalid" the methods that he used to obtain that judgement. Nor does it negate the fact that an innocent man lost his life (he was denied freedom, wasn't he?) and the ability to earn a living and enjoy that which life had to offer. So he was, in a sense, sent to his death.

And Willie, I agree on the police part. Much of that statement was tongue in cheek...
