Actually, about .18 a gallon. It's fully, totally subsidized by Uncle Chavez. Any time they try to raise the price, the natives riot. With Chavez looking at re-election, he won't attempt to raise the price any time soon.

I still think the capitol gains tax is a crime . Or the fact that you have to pay one cent of taxes on money won at a casino . I didnt see uncle sam ponying up any dough for either of those two risks...

Its basically like, your money isn't really your money. Its just money borrowed formt the government and they need to get it back from you one way or another .

On our tax return, my wife and I paid more in taxes then she makes. Her being a liberal hated it when I said she didn't make a single dime last year as the government took it all, then took some of my money too boot!

Pretty much sums it up. Even with wealth earned, one prick decides to cut an executive order and nationalize the banks and everything you earned and saved becomes theirs. Wouldn't happen because it's hard to dodge rounds from 360 degrees.

Maybe the government should not feel entitled to other peoples hard earned money.

Isn't it interesting they're willing to exile anyone giving up citizenship forever yet practice catch and release with illegals?

No shit. Not to mention go after the money of those leaving, but pay through the nose with taxpayer funds to support those entering illegally. What a fucking joke.

Seeing it in black and white can be a shock to the system, especially to people that work hard for their money. When housing was doing well, and being self-employed, I sent in some very large quarterly tax payments. It really made me wonder where my money actually goes. When I see that it takes $30k a year per death-row inmate, I figured there was one year when I covered 1.5 sleaze bags to have a place to stay and free medical.

The 30K that it takes to keep an inmate on death row is not spent on the inmate. It is spent paying the wages of the union member prison guards and for health care for their families. Getting rid of the inmate doesn't lower the prisons expenses by 30k because most of the cost associated with the prison system are fixed cost.

What little Chucky is wanting to do is called a "Bill of Attainder" and it is specifically prohibited by Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution.

Regardless of how you slice it, it's 30k per person. Hiring more guards, doctors, utility costs', etc. You can use the same reasoning for school teachers or building roads. It still cost real money, and to think that's all I covered (in a really good year) is downright depressing. As I've said before, I'd rather my $30k go towards 6k needles at $5 each. At least there's no long term maintenance.

If you halve the number of inmates the cost associated with the prison system will not drop by half. Prison systems are just like any other government bureaucracy in that they consume staggering amounts of capital without producing the intended results and they never ever get any smaller.

In TX the cost runs about 22k per annum. It cost almost zero dollars in the past when the system was self sufficient but politics intruded into the running of the TX prison system and now we spend a TON of cash on it.

The private prisons in TX provide services to the feds and a few local county's for pretrial detention and post convection detention for crimes carrying a penalty of less then one year. There is a staggering difference between a TDCJ prison and one of the facilities that you are referring to. The ones that you are talking about are also merely an outgrowth of the existing bureaucratic Federal BOP.

All rooms with bars on the windows and doors that the occupants of the room can't open in TX are not necessarily a TX prison.
