No. Cash in and of itself is not illegal.

It should NOT, IMHO, but I'm not the one out there doing this. One single cashier's check in a wallet would never be found.

Officer "Are you carrying large amounts of currency"
      Citizen "No"

      End of story.
I would prefer to answer "It's none of your fucking business." and leave it at that.

      • You are exactly right, I don't trust a singe one of you crooked ass fuckers.

Shame on you for defending this bullshit, it doesn't fucking matter WHAT people want to do with their money, or how they carry it. You are a disgrace..

Go ahead and refuse to believe the truth.

That's exactly why people sue entities instead of focusing on the individual officer. The deep pockets lie with the agency.
So, your response is that he has no moral or ethical duty to people and no obligation to refuse an unlawful order from his superiors, he just has an obligation to follow orders.

I have seen you post some really stupid shit in the past. I mean things that show you don't have the reasoning of your average high school student, but this is the best by far. No wonder you are a cop.

And the reason people sue entities is that generally people have no money. If you fuck up on the job do you think someone is going to sue you for the peanuts you have ratholed away? Comedy!

You are one stupid mother fucker for posting this. I could say that I wanted the officers skinned alive and you would still say I'm defending them.

Go wallow in your self pity and paranoia......

And you can't sue them because....they have your money so you can't hire an attorney. And if you do, they'll fight until you rack up thousands in bills and then settle out of court, then you have to give a split of your original money to the attorney if not all of it

Where did I say that the superiors are ordering this? I'm saying that they are allowing it to happen. I'm pretty sure that no staff or line supervisor would put that in an order. His supervisors should be reviewing his work product and catching this stuff.

This kind of revenue generation has to be supported at the very top, if not at the Mayoral/City Council level.

Nice job in acting like a grade school kid with your attempted insults.

I don't really know exactly what you do, but I'd say I have a better nest egg and financial portfolio than 90% of this board.

You are acting like a childish little prick. Why not man up and carry on an intelligent conversation without all the unnecessary commentary?

Oh Frost, you must be paranoid, we know this hasn't been happening since the 1980s or anything. The ACLU hasn't made it a priority. President Clinton didn't have to force a re-write of the laws because the police were outright stealing from citizens. Paranoid!

I did that for years and towards the end I still had to deal with cops (bonfires and such).

That is probably their diabolical plan. Sad but true.

David Guillory, an attorney in Nacogdoches who filed the federal lawsuit, said he combed through Shelby County court records from 2006 to 2008 and discovered nearly 200 cases in which Tenaha police seized cash and property from motorists. In about 50 of the cases, suspects were charged with drug possession.

But in 147 others, Guillory said the court records showed, police seized cash, jewelry, cell phones and sometimes even automobiles from motorists but never found any contraband or charged them with any crime.
147 cases of fucking crooks with tin stars outright robbing people in one small town in 24 months... disgusting.

Oh cop tears are so delicious. I think I'll have a glass full. This is rich commentary from someone who started the "unnecessary commentary" towards me a while back. Aren't you the guy who also attacked Eric on a personal basis? I think I'll make whatever comments to you that I feel necessary and if you don't like it you can run off for about nine days (again) and go fuck yourself.

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way. I'm saying the cop has a personal responsibility to do what is right. I couldn't care less what is going on up the chain of command. If the orders he gets are unlawful and they insist on him obeying then he should quit. He isn't enlisted.

And no one cares about your financial situation, the point of that was that the city has much deeper pockets, so deep that yours might as well be empty.

Say you get jacked at the gas station.

Say your car gets broken into.

One of my guys worked a burglary of vehicle at the Railhead on Montgomery. The victim claimed he had an envelope in the console with $5,000 that he was going to use to buy a car.

Now he's out $5k. He'll never get it back.

If he had a Cashier's check the thief would probably not take it, and if he did, he would have a hard time cashing a check that was made out to a person. Can you see a bank accepting a cashier's check for $125k without ID?
Are you serious? What if I get in a roll over and it goes flying? What if I get jacked at the gas station? I won't bother with the petty specifics of those individual questions but the short answer is, who the fuck are you to tell me what to do with MY money? If any of those happen then that is MY problem. If I get jacked at the gas station then that is MY problem. I don't need a copper to police my personal matters. If I want to carry around 10k in 1 dollar bills that's my choice. If I decide to tape it all together and use it as toilet paper that is my choice. Who the fuck is anyone to tell me what is to much, how much I should be carrying and HOW I should be carrying it.

I often make purchases in this money range and I would go to jail before handing over that much cash.. Fucking ridiculous.

I like most cops and don't have as much of a problem with them as most on this site do. However, if I was from another planet and you were the only cop interaction I had to gauge my experience on I would say fuck all cops in a heart beat. That has to be the dumbest shit I have ever heard...
