Guest repliedAnd after trying to make some sort of half assed retirement dig at me last month. Lolz we need to quarantine this idiocy to one thread, it keeps on infecting others like a brain cell eating virus.

Checking in for the irony of a government employee who funds 33% of his retirement lecturing people who fund 100% of theirs to "work for it".

The city has a far better retirement than it did in the 80's,90's and early 2000's when the markets were good and peoples 401k plans were profitable. The fact that the economy went to the crapper, and we negotiated for a better retirement makes the PD employees a target for the media. There wasn't a single article about how bad our retirement was in the Star Telegram in those days, but now we are being made to look like we are fleecing the city. The city feeding the Telegram information is one way to make he citizens side with the city council.
I hired when retirement was shitty, and have been through the ups and downs. If you want a good retirement, do what I did.
Work for it.
By the way, check your President's retirement, or any Congressman's. I'm willing to bet those people (as well as military) don't contribute to the system while they are working.

But the Monterey officer drew up a damning affidavit, citing his own training that "common people do not carry this much U.S. currency.

I took the same oath. It bothers me too.

And yes 03trubluGT, I have read where you personally do not agree in taking money.
