This hapened to a co-worker of mine. He bought a vehicle on ebay and got pulled over in Oklahoma. They took his 12k even though he had a trailer, proof the ebay aution, and contact info for the seller.

No, blame the cop and solely the cop in this case. He was on a traffic stop and exercised his discretion... poorly.

thats what happens when you have nothing to hide.
    you have everything to lose.

ohhh damn looks like im too late. trublu showed up to debase this obvious JBT thread yet again , by yet again.... displacing blame.
when a cop tries to take my legit 10K+ , ill tell him he isn't .
If he tries to , I would stop him.

I can't wait until the day everyone is fighting with the cops. that day is approaching.

Where did I say the person doing it should not be accountable? I'm only saying things need to be revamped from the top/down, bottom/up. You choose, I don't really care which way.

Execute the guy/gal doing it - but if management is encouraging/making them do it - then it'll just continue.

What a fucking bunch of bullshit. I have travelled across state lines with more then 10k several times looking at cars. Stopped for speeding and completely honest with the cops and then just blatantly fucked. I hate these kind of stories they give everyone in LE a bad name.

Nice. I think I'm witnessing your transformation into full blown member of the bitter tin foil hat club.
