You're reading it wrong. It actually says "I'm a baller and you are peasants. Sucks to be you!"

I thought he already did that by posting pics of his garage and all the cool cars he owned.

On a serious note the wife and I are really thinking about up grading homes to baller status, but the one thing that holds this cheap ass back is the fucking taxes beleive it or not. The payment doesn't scare me one bit, but it chaps my ass knowing that I'll be spending $600 to $700 a month on fucking taxes.

My buddy just bought a bad ass foreclosure for $410,000. The county had it appraised for $600k. He went to argue with them showing it's only worth what he paid and they told him to get fucked. They view it as a luxory home and wouldn't lower the taxes by one penny. I think this is total horse shit cause something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. The bank had this house on the market for over a year also.

Tell him to sue them. You can win believe it or not. I know it is nothing to the ballers on here but my boss has a large home in Southlake where he pays $60,000 a year in taxes. They tried to raise his taxes, he protested, they denied, he filed a lawsuit and won.

I'm actually surprised by the number of people who don't protest their property taxes and get them to reduce the amount they want you to pay.

I've talked to people who had no clue it was possible.

Did he have an appraisal? I've never heard of a protest backed up by a current appraisal being denied. Although I don't deal with Bexar county that much, maybe they're special?

Exactly what I was thinking. Especially with some comps included.

The county's appraisal is based on that of a third party, they can't make a stated claim as to the value of a home. If he had that kind of trouble he should just file a grievance with a judge. I'd like to see how they intend to prove the house is $190,000 more than what an appraiser values it at. I have a feeling that what happened was he got a good deal, and the home is actually valued at 600k. It's the same shit with cars now, I paid $4k for my jeep and the state valued it at 11k, I had to get an appraisal signed and everything to get them to drop down, I have a feeling he never had an appraisal at that price, only his purchase price - and those are two different things entirely.

I protested mine by sitting at the tax office with a truck and sign that said "Delta County fucks veterans." And then I submitted my appeal

But wouldn't he had to get an appraisal when he bought the house?

I'm not sure if he had an appraisal or not. He said he took all the paper work from him buying the house and they just pushed it aside. Told him in Comal County once a home goes over a certain value it's considered a luxury home and this is what you will pay. He balked and they countered with that two years ago the house sold for 600k and they wouldn't budge off that. I'm not saying he didn't get a smoking deal on the house but come on. It sat on the market for over a year and twice BofA turned down his $410k offer. Finally they contacted him and said if he still wanted to pay that they'd accept it. As far as comps go in that neighborhood homes range from 1 million to $375,000.
