Don't forget that states with income tax typically also have property tax (albeit much smaller).

You really never own anything in the US. Either the government can't still get it our someone's lawyer tries to take it. Either way there is a string still attached.

I dont pay much for property Taxes, But I still have to come off $624 a year for my place that is valued at 14,750. My Dad & Mom have there house paid for & they pay $3800 a year in Property Taxes & man he gets pissed having to write them a check every year. His favorite saying is you dont own anything in America, We just rent it from the goverment.
Hell you cant even build on your property without Uncle Sam getting a piece of the pie. Oh you got money to build. You got money to pay me more taxes!!!GOD BLESS TEXAS
