Fuck them. At 10, my son already has a lawn business. Good luck trying to stop him...

You’re missing the big picture. They want the farmers to not go along with this. Next you will have headlines that read “Feds seize farm because of child slave labor”.
I did the same thing growing up myself.
Feeding the cows, feeding the horse, feeding the chickens, buckin 75# - 100# hay bales all summer long, spliting fire wood and working on cars in my dads shop plus working for others for some extra money.

This is such bs working when your young creates part of who you are. I worked for the family business in the summer when I was 15 and 16 then in my neighbors restaurant once school started back from 16 till I finished junior college and moved to DFW. I managed to buy and pay off my GT before I was 19 and that taught me the value of money and how much car payments suck.

So if a cop drives by and sees my nine year old mowing the yard, CPS gets called or I get ticketed?

At some point in time, a real man will say, "Not here, and not today!" There will be an incident, people will be shot and the uproar will start and grow into a real mess. Didn't it happen at Lexington and Concord ? I think something like that happened at the Alamo.

I have come to the conclusion that i simply dont recognize much of the "authority" tjhat the gubberment claims it has .

And will simply wipe my ass with most of the new laws they come up with . Problem solved . Good luck catching me doing it, gubberment .

                    ...
The new regulations, first proposed August 31 by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, would also revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA, replacing them instead with a 90-hour federal government training course.
                    ...
Holy hell! 90 hours of the most BS inept training, too.

$20 says Solis has never set foot on a farm.

I've been thinking about that a lot lately. At what point will I decide to not recognize our laws and become an outlaw or whatever you want to call me?

I started hauling hay when I was an embryo.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Probably just trying to do damage control, but at least they dropped it.

Update, April 26, 7:55 p.m.: Citing public outrage, the Department of Labor has withdrawn the controversial rulemaking proposal described in this article.

Denny, is that California or federal? I couldn't wait to get a job as soon as I turned 16. Damn, this is going to be a useless generation of kids.

What's going to happen to the under 18's who have jobs?!
