I honestly feel a lot of the good republican candidates sat this one out, afraid of what losing against an undefeatable obama would do to their political careers.

What i find funny is that if they think its bad now, im sure the democratic party has another Obama type figure being groomed just now.
I think that was true in '08. Not so much this time around. A lot of the guys I like are just too young and/or inexperienced right now. I think Marco Rubio as VP would line him up as a POTUS.

Emotion? My emotion is "despair" in that the Republican candidate selection makes me want to puke.

As for who I think would beat Obama, my answer is that none of the candidates in the GOP primary could do it. My personal favorite is Gingrich, since he seems to have a good handle on what the problems with the country are, and has enough spine to implement what will be needed to fix them. I'm sure you have a few reasons that he's an unelectable dumbass, and I would probably even agree with them.

It really doesn't matter what I think though, as the Republicans have decided that the slick-haired shyster is their horse. I just don't think he will get enough support from minorities and young whites to do stop Obama from getting a second term. Based on recent voting patterns, the Republicans may think they can get a polished but spineless lying sack of crap voted in. I just don't think it's going to work out for them this time.

Awesome. This reminds me of some forum members here.

Thanks for an intelligent answer instead of some chickenshit tag. Gingrich would have been the best choice, but his baggage would have been an issue. I would have paid good money to see him debate Barry.

First of all, Romney is only the second-worst republian nominee in recent history, the worst was John McCain... but the dude is still a slick haired bullshit politician to the bone.

Even if he were to be elected, which I don't believe he will be, I don't see him changing in any meaningful way the path in which our country is going.

As I say often, we're fucked... period.

And as far as this election is concerned, no way does Romney beat the "chosen one".... it's a done deal for 4 more years.... and with the typical 21st century American voter, the next guy won't be any better:

Did people hate on Bush during this time ? That was a little before my time . Seems like Romeny sure catches a lot of grief from his own "side"

Was 2008 before your time? Hillary Clinton and Barry were brutal towards each other. Bill Clinton talking about his own party "pulling the race card" on them? Primaries are nasty. Usually once they're over, things settle down for the election. Hell, I heard they caught Barry and Hillary spooning in a custodial closet the next week...

This is simply untrue. "Young Whites" dislike Obama much more across the board now than they did in 2008. I honestly hqve not come across one person who voted for Barry in 08 who will vote for him again. No, they are not too excited for a Romney12 ticket, however, they are glad to see Obama leave.

Then why are you going to vote at all? No one but you cares about your vote, and if it doesn't matter, why are you doing it? Just so you can say "I voted for Ron Paul"?
