It's very, very easy to sit back and say "fuck ya'll because I'm healthy" but quite another story when you actually are bum fuck broke and have cancer and are unable to work.

For all you people not wanting government healthcare, are you ready to kill off Social Security and Medicare/medicaid? Because it's the same thing that you're arguing against! Your grandparents likely rely on that income. Damn near everyone on this forum will rely on it as well (assuming it's still around).

Social Security is a scam, medicare and medicaid should have never even existed. Tell me this, what did people do before social security, medicaid and medicare? My grandparents do not rely on social security.

Sorry Dude. Your arguments pull at the heart strings, but are ultimately irrelevant. None of that gives you the right to force a Dr to give his labor to you, or your kid without compensation. It also doesn't give you the right to take out of my pocket to pay that Dr either.

Your situation sucks, but life sucks. People might sympathize with your situation and offer their services or money to help, but that is all you should expect.

And yes, I am ready to kill off SS and Medicare. They never should have been enacted in the first place and my generation is having thousands of dollars a year taken out of our paychecks for a service that will be bankrupt long before we will be able to tap it. Those were laws enacted by old people to take care of themselves off the backs of the generations that come after them with no regard whatsoever to the cost burden spread across 3 generations to pay for one. I am SHOCKED that my generation is largely okay with knowing this. It is theft by it's very definition.

I am glad someone else came to this conclusion because I was about to.

I feel for you goofygrin, I really do, because there are chronically ill people who need constant care and life fucks them. But that isn't my problem. My job in life is to leave a legacy for my children, not support everyone who needs help. Believe me, I would do it in a hearbeat if I could but it is idealistic.

Someone hinted at the real problem and it is the COST of healthcare, not how to pay for it. Funny how the government doesn't want to address that. I'm sure some lobbyists are in there making sure that doesn't come up.

The government yet again decides to kick the can down the road that much farther instead of dealing with the problem.

Under what constitutional power would you have the federal government create health care for all? Keep in mind, that's confiscating the labor and education of doctors, nurses, drug companies, medical technology companies and so on. That's telling them they have to produce at a level the government dictates, produce what the government dictates and for what the government dictates.

what are you talking about? That's twice. It shouldn't be ok for insurance companies to taje your money month end and month out for half your life and then when you actually need it, they say, oh now you need your insurance, sorry fuck you. We only want you to pay for insurance and not need it. Raise the premiums or what ever but dont drop coverage.
