I kind of agree with the guy banging Smurfette. Who really wants to find out what they can do? We're steadily downsizing and cutting our resources so...

I wouldn't want to go to war with them. They are quickly gaining ground in the aviation realm. The navy realm not so but it's only a matter of time IMO before they are on equal footing with us if things keep going like this

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

The points I was trying to make:
1. They have a very large ground capability with an S-300 based air defense system that is easily capable of capturing and holding ground as long as air or naval logistics are not a component.
2. If China were to do something of the above, the chances that the current administration would do jack or shit about it is nearly 0%.Last edited by Gargamel; 03-23-2012, 09:07 AM.

To be honest, I don't think you'll ever have to worry about China classically "invading" the US. Not gonna happen...

..Sorry it took me a while to get back. Absolutely nothing is getting out now. Net access has been shutoff entirely from places where anyone is trying to do things their teams of censors dislike. Phone access is quashed. I haven't heard anything at all.
Rumors, and nothing more it sounds like.
Even if a coup has taken place, it's likely we'd never know. Especially around election season. In order to control the masses and all the various provinces, China has established the State as an unwavering power and erased the concept of revolution from the common vernacular. Anyone wanting to control China as is, would have to continue that practice. As bizarre as this is, saying "We just won a coup" would screw up 60 years of brainwashing, and tell ansty provinces that there is indeed weakness in the State.
It's such a weird place.
The threat is news getting out that anyone even TRIED to form a coup, not the coup itself. Their power balance throughout Mainland China is that tenuous. Basically there's two sides. The citizens of China, and the Party. The party may fight amongst itself, but they know to keep shit on the downlow or they'll all lose power. At minimum, lots of uppity provinces will release the Party isn't as strong as it seems.Nothing in the last six hours?

I really doubt that China cares about a bunch of numbers on a computer somewhere. We borrow money from them, we send back that money in the form of interest payments and buying crappy goods from them, they then give us that money back and take our raw and natural resources and stockpile them. If you have ever worked at a major port you see lots of loaded containers coming off the ships but only empty ones going back on. What does get shipped back to China is raw timber, grains, tons of recycled metals and oil. All China cares about is our resources and will eventually come for our land . They already own 50 square miles in Idaho and want to build a factory and house Chinese worker there. Also I would bet that there is more to there military than what we see and know and if they wanted to get a billion people here fast that they would be able to.
