I've come to grips that you can't change most things that are wrong with this world a long time ago. Now I just try to make as much money as possible.

Right and I can respect that, however cheerleading gas prices? Bad form.

I'm contributing to the company's bottom line. They are the largest user of diesel fuel in the world. They keep track of how much fuel we use on each trip and they determine if we saved them fuel or burned up way to much. At the end of each month they pay me a percentage of the amount of fuel I saved. I average $500 to $600 a month in bonus. So the higher the fuel prices are the more money I save them and the more money I get.

The presidency is like steering an oil tanker. His actions are not likely to have any short term effect - they typically take years to manifest. If any president had started with some simple actions we might not be in the shape we're in right now.

Examples of things he could set in motion:

            1. Get out of the way of drilling and open up the gulf and alaska.
            2. Remove EPA regulations that prevent new refineries from opening.
            3. Introduce legislation that makes energy speculation harder (ie: a rule that you have to take delivery of a portion of what you buy before you can sell it). Put some teeth into the committee that monitors these trades.
            4. Get rid of the department of energy.
            5. Unrestrict government land so it can be explored for oil.
            6. Repurpose unused military base land for refineries.
            7. Quit supporting foreign countries that drill where we can't by law.
            8. Fire Chu.
            9. Have ONE blend of gas instead of many boutique blends.
            10. Get rid of ethanol in gas.

and so on.... it takes some outside the box thinking along with some common sense. Obama can't do either.

We export refined products: gasoline, etc.

We won't build refineries for the same reason oil is not drilled, good power plants being decomissioned, and why all industy is moving out of the USA: a planned de-industrialization of our country.

He'll waste our stategic reserve for a political bid, it will drop gas prices for two weeks - the liberal media will swallow and choke on his nut sack praising him. A few weeks later when gas prices go higher than before they will completely ignore it and continue to focus on how he dropped them for two weeks. Grab your calenders and mark my words.
He's not the first, and he won't be the last to do this -- from either party. If someone wanted to fix the price of gas, transportation costs, food costs affected by fuel, etc., then we would have struck a deal with Iraq to buy oil from them at $50/bbl for say 10 years to repay us for the military effort there. If a company could buy that oil and then mark it up no more than say 25% each time it changed hands/ was processed, then fuel costs would be much lower. Unfortunately, this won't happen. The demand is not there for gas to be $4/gal. We're going to see it anyway though.

That's why we are in all those countries in the middle east: to protect our currency, and to make sure that US dollars are the standard for buying oil.
