  • The big deficit lie

Basically, this article outlines how the tax and spending plans for each of the Republican candidates does nothing to actually reduce the deficit. Ron Paul comes the closest with 7.5 trillion in cuts but even he keeps the national debt growing. So none of these fuckers is really looking to stop deficit spending. Obama's debt/GDP percentage is as low as Ron Pauls, but of course he wants to do it with tax increases.

The article is by The Atlantic but the report they link to is the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (who thinks of these names). It throws Obama's budgeting in there for comparison too...

The article has too many graphs to make it worth a cut and paste. Check it out at the link...

Dude, there was a great article about our deficit being higher than the Eurozone's in the Economist. Sadly, we may be at the point where we need to cut spending and raise taxes.

EDIT: Here's the article, if anyone wants to read it.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

All they'll do with more taxes is continue to blow them. I don't think there is any fixing it, to tell you the truth. There is simply no way to make the pols stop their wasteful ways...

I doubt it would happen again but when they brits were raising the taxes on the settlers here you know what they did.

Since they absolutely refuse to cut spending and people are %100 sure that they need a program to do everything up to and including wiping their asses, raising taxes is just enabling their behavior.

The preppers are probably right... IMO its only a matter of time...

Here is where the current national course and sense of entitlement leads:

and most likely the water won't be blue...

Oh I know, guys. I'm not saying that doing the rational, thought out thing stands even a remote chance of happening. I'm just calling it like it is.
