OP: Nanny state in full effect and if what Bronco said is true about supplement, not prevent from eating, I'd be all over the school board, etc.
As far as allergies are concerned, IMO, its because everyone is a germ-a-phobe, sanitizing everything. Let the kids eats more dirt and leaves when their younger and build that immunity. Allergies are nothing but your body overreacting to a stimulus. Get these kids exposed to things and allergies will be less, or at a minimum, non-life threatening.
