  • So here's a question for the believers...

Let's pretend for the sake of argument that a person was convinced that God exists, and while accepting his existence as fact, and the bible as factual, this person thinks God's plan is a bad one. Let's say he meets basically all the requirements in the bible, except he doesn't like God. Does he still go to heaven when he dies?

Satan is convinced God exists, accepts the Bible as factual, thinks God's plan is a bad one, and is not going (back to) Heaven.

Thus, believing God exists is not enough, because Satan obviously believes God exists. Rather, one must accept Jesus as their Saviour in order to enter the New Kingdom of God after they die.

Bad analogy. Satan wasn't cast out for disagreeing with god. Satan was cast out for making a play for the throne. Also, if the Book of Job is to be believed, Satan still has some access to god and heaven, and the argument between them appears to be ongoing.

Let's take it one step further, and say the person in question believes Jesus is his savior, but doesn't like the necessity of the whole setup, and thinks God's a dick all the same for it. Can you hate god, accept his plan, and still get into heaven?

The Book of Job was prior to Jesus fulfilling the New Covenant. There's been some changes since then.

Back to the original question, Salvation has nothing to do with whether or not God exists or not, rather if you accept Jesus as your Savior. There is an automatic default for believing in His existence in that case.

Both King and Denny explaines it well. Just because Satin was after something more doesnt disredit him from believing in God.

The phrase "Trust in Him" comes to mind. When I read this.

Judas came to a rather bad end, by his own hand no less.

Satin? Is the evil overlord a stripper? I'd put a fiver in his g-string.
