What I find funny is that a vast majority of the folks who want all this reform, more gov't assistance being available, want the 'rich' to pay more in taxes... a vast majority of these folks don't even pay any Fed Income Tax. To me, it's ridiculous to raise hell over something that does not even concern you.

It's like the stereotypical movie with the prissy spoiled girlfriend who talks a ton of shit about how her guy's house is decorated, and demands he make all these changes AND foot the bill to appease her. Bitch, you don't pay any of the bills! Shut the fuck up!

Exactly. The whole point of this discussion is the federal income tax and federal funding. I'm not sure why you would even include state sales taxes in the argument unless you were trying to distort facts to make a case.

I also like how the article fails to mention whether someone is a NET tax payer or gets a subsidy from the system. How many people pay their 6% in payroll taxes, pay no federal income tax but get money back? The answer is a LOT of the people in that no man's land between the 14% who pay no taxes and all the 48% who pay no federal income tax. There are tax credits and breaks in there for every kind of broke dick you can imagine. Those people get free money in the mail but it is the evil rich guy who is gaming the system. I love it!

Looks like the CBO gives Barry another $1.1 trillion deficit for 2011! It even exceeded their estimate from October. Holy shit.

How can anyone argue that this is NOT his economy? Three years without a budget? How about a little accountability.

More like it. Tax on a gallon in TX is 38.4 cents, Exxon makes .02..

In the latest quarter, Exxon Mobil made just over 2 cents per gallon in profit for a gallon of gas it sold. But the federal and state governments, which tack HUGE taxes on every gallon of gas you buy made a whopping 48 cents per gallon. And that's just an average. In some states, like California government took a whopping 66 cents for every gallon consumers bought.

I just did my taxs, and about shit a cow. I made more this last year than I have in a while, And over the year I felt like it was a bad year. Felt like I was broke.
Had to add the shit up twice to make sure it was right.

The broke feeling it the increase in all commodity prices (*cough* gas, etc *cough*). You made more, but it was all lost due to the inflation, IMO.
