How the hell can they call Newt the winner when he's in 2nd place with not even 1% reporitng?
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

Exit polling. It's bullshit but "normally" it works..

Looks like Newt's response to CNN's question worked out pretty well for him, and looks like RP came down to earth.

            Not the least bit surprised...

RP sounded like he was throwing in the towel during his closing speech. All about the delegates!

Yessir. I read where he's pretty much conceding Florida and concentrating on "friendlier" states. Smart stuff. He will have some power in this election, and rightfully so. I wish some of his more staunch followers would recognize his mission for what it is.

FL is an all or nothing state as far as delegates are concerned, a very expensive place to advertise, and has a very high number of older voters many of who are used to getting a SS check every month and are being told by the news Ron Paul wants to abolish SS immediately. We can all have a good laugh now that newt has won. Another flavor of the week who's support is about an inch deep and you can bet he will proceed to squander it away with some kind of public shenanigans. The truth is romney is still the favorite and all this will do is spread out the delegates even more.

Ron Paul doesn't need the overall nomination to accomplish his goal however the GOP will need his votes to beat obama. And they aren't likely in the general election to just check the R box because limbaugh, hannity, or levin said so. That is a fact whether or not the Paul haters will admit it or not.

I'm not so sure about that. Ultimately, anyone with a truly right leaning bone in their body will vote opposite of Barry, regardless of the name on the ballot.

I predict RP will fall in line and endorse the eventual front runner.

It doesn't even have to be said. Being asked 618 times about running a third party bid or if he will back the eventual GOP nominee is very telling. The Republican party knows with very little doubt Paul's support isn't likely to back a Romney type without something in trade. A prominent speaking role at the convention or a path for Rand to somehow get into the mix, something will have to be done before Ron will play nice.

I actually wish Perry would have stayed in and spread it out even more. If Paul didn't win SC, which his campaign didn't expect a W, the next best strategery was to have Romney lose. 2nd/3rd/4th is no matter. There are about 56x something delegates out there that newt and Santorum are not likely to capture. They didn't even make an effort in the states or failed to get on the ballot. You need 11xx to win. So stealing SC delegate from Romney is great for newt, but also very good for Paul.

Didn't Paul lose all his deligates from Iowa for no damn reason of his own?

Except for the butthurt zealots with their write-in vote campaign.

I still think he will endorse whoever the republican is, with conditions or promises. If Obama wins, he knows he has zero chance of any of his policies/ideas ever seeing light of day.

i would honestly be just as happy if he didnt win, if who ever does endorses all of his fiscal policies. to me its not about the man, its his ideas.

He may have enough stroke this time around, to get it done. The dems have always been able to come together after a nasty caucus/nomination process, and I give them full crdiet for doing that. They've figured out the "common enemy" thing, where the rest of us haven't.
