Too many are worried about getting their perfect candidate into office to worry about which one has the best chance of winning. You won't see this problem with the democrats, it didn't happen in 2008 and it won't happen in 2012.

I cannot speak for everyone, but I will say that matts5.0 is in the ballpark with the general idea that Romeny will not be much different than Obama. Romney says he wants to do away with Obama care. He was also pro choice, pro TARP, ect, but now is not. I mean really where is the major contrast between the two?

I have yet to decide what I will do and it depends on how they treat Paul if it turns out Romney does win the nomination. If they want to continue to ask Paul questions like, "When you lose will you pinky swear not to run third party?" or "Which would you legalized first Heroin or Cocaine?" that isn't exactly going to win me or many others over.

It's pretty damn simple. The republican party is busy trying to blame Ron Paul for ruining their primary race, but really he is turning people out to vote in droves. The party that says they want to get Obama out of Washington no matter what sure is saying one thing, but doing the opposite. They should be rallying around Paul given his positions/standings. If the republican party has there heads too far up their tight asses to realize this, then they will deserve to lose the general election. That would be considered "blowback".

I don't think RP will run 3rd party. The main reason I say this, is because his son is just now coming into his own politically and I don't see RP derailing his future. Interestingly enough, I see him carrying the torch for his old man, and doing really well. Age IS an issue to some of us out here. Reagan turned 70 right after his inauguration in '81 (and was RP's age in the middle of his 2nd term) and folks called him old.

He's far from perfect. You know how Texas democrats are "different" than most? They tend to be not as far left. Well, northern republicans tend to be not as far right. Chris Christie has the same sort of slant. In Mass., Romney is considered a "conservative", mainly because of how far left the rest of the state is.

RP will NOT get the GOP vote....Period. He, and Gingrich for that matter, are what career politicians DO NOT want in office, regardless of party. the republican party is going to push forward with the moderate Romney to gain what they think is the largest number of votes from the conservative Dems and the libertarians who can't vote for paul. the big fuck in the ass will occur if RP doesn't get the nomination and continues to run. The it's ross perot fucking things up all over again. The moment RP doesn't get the nomination, he must drop it all and move on.

Sadly, I am 99% certain Romney is the GOP's boy for 2012. It's a stupid gamble. They SHOULD back RP 100% and back him up with a moderate like Romney as VP if they want to slam dunk this fucker in November....but the likelyhood of that happening is about like me winning the lottery.

Dr. Paul is giving it a helluva run and is a great indicator of what this country needs in a lot of ways. I think his son, Rand, is going to pick up the torch in 8 years, if not land a spot in Romney's up and coming Admin.

We'll see how it goes, as they travel south for more delegates.

Romney may struggle some in South Carolina, but I'm thinking he will rebound in Florida.
