Same here. I'm not voting for scum like Perry or Romney or Gingrich. I mean jeez man just LOOK at 'em. Listen to 'em. They're like stereotypes. If we were voting for a guy to make sure there wasn't any gold teeth, or malt liquor, or fried chicken, or pimps, would you vote for a black guy with gold teeth and a cane and a long fur robe? Its all really simple. If you were voting for math to suck, would you vote for the short asian dressed in a suit wearing glasses and holding a calculator? I really don't see how people buy into some of these guys.

Except for the fact that he's much different. Nader worked with the Carter admin for more and bigger government. I'll wait for you to prove where paul has done that.

I meant in that he will divide the GOP vote....not a ideological comparison at all.

There's no advantage to voting for RP, unless you want more Obama time. If you think that he might just have a chance to make a serious run at the thing and win the office, your diluting yourself.

        It's deluding.

And you are part of the problem. If Paul *were* to get the nod, would you vote for him or obsama?

Based on your verbiage it sounds like you would vote for the latter just to keep from voting for the guy you won't even consider.

And there isn't a candidate walking that will get 100% of the GOP vote. You seem to base your stance on BS.

Or democrats for that matter. Or people who arent officially either party. Voter turnout in this country is abysmal and while its in effect a two party system there is not in the population. (ie swing, undecided, etc)

There needs to be a canidate that has support of the base, as well as one that can get support from the middle. When you have a fringe canidate, no matter how popular he is to you, he may not have the draw to be electable.

OK thats not what I meant and you know it. If he gets the GOP ticket then what else are repubs going to vote for? Obama?

We all know 100% of voters wont turn out, no matter who runs, 100% wont show up.

Who else would the GOP voters vote for then Einstein? Obama? I think its pretty obvious they would vote for who ever has the R next to their name.

See the below post. Now replace Ron Paul for (insert name here). There will be plenty of repubs that will not vote for him, they will write-in someone else besides the repub nominee.

But for everyone of them that writes in someone else will be another repub voter that votes for RP rather than writing his name in or voting independant where RP will be if he doesnt get the GOP ticket.

Im not nuthugging either, its just common sense. Like Vertnut said in another thread, he would just pull the straight republican lever and be done with it. Thats how the majority of the voters are. They are going to support their party when given the honest chance of R or D. The voters that will make the biggest difference are swing voters and independants and that is where RP can kick Romney or Santorums ass.

I guess we can agree to disagree, I don't think all straight-line repub voters will vote for him. There will be many that have heavy reservations about his foreign policy, etc etc, enough to either write someone else in (as similar to the post I quoted) or not even bother to show up to vote.

Fox news was doing kind of a profile on him with Raun Paul as his rep. There were about 30 people in the room asking questions. The host asked the audience how many people agreed with his domestic policies. Everyon raised their hands. He has asked the audience how many people agreed with his foreign policies. 3 people raised their hand. It was pretty telling.

Most Paul voter will write him in.. most other peoples canidates would go straight Republican if their Guy doesn't get the nomination. Paul will pull in more swing voters and Democrats. Maybe I'm blind but is Paul really that hated, that no one will vote for him? His numbers seem very good in the polls, and I bet will keep getting better. It seems the media is scared(a little less as time goes on) of old Ron.

I will vote for him in the primary and in the general election if he gets the nomination, but will not be writing him in.

If people don't like Dr Ron Paul's foreign policy then whose do they like and why? Who has a better domestic policy than Dr Paul and why? I would think that domestic policy would be more important than foreign policy at this time.

I am struggling with that piece myself. At this time, why are so many people still concerned about giving foreign aid? That is basically what Ron doesn't want us to do. Why is everyone not on board with that?
