I said earlier I'm not happy with Obama BUT I don't see a alternative. The Repubs are totally out of touch with the average person. The average person just wants a job and to live his or her life without being fucked with by the goverment. The Repubs are out for the 1%'ers and piss on the average guy. "Don't you dare kill the tax cut for the wealthy!" "We can't afford to keep the payroll tax cut" for the person who actually works for a living and needs it. This attitude will be what hurts the Repubs with the average voter.

OK... 47% of the population does not pay any taxes in come Federal Return time. There's enough write-offs, tax breaks and programs to allow the lower 47% of this country's workforce to avoid paying a dime towards the money it bitches about getting every year from Uncle Sam. It's tough to give a tax cut to someone who doesn't even contribute when the dust settles and, a lot of times, actually wants to the gov't to give them more (welfare as an example).

So, when the other 53% not only foot the bill for the collected taxes for 100% of the workforce, how do you complain about them NOT wanting tax breaks??? They're paying the way for almost half of the USA taxable workforce and that other half is basically saying, "not only do I want you to pay my taxes, I want you to give me perks I don't pay for, and... oh I almost forgot... I want you to pay MORE taxes next year"

I'm for a heathcare bill that places limits on what Insurance companys can charge and requires large business's to provide heathcare or at least pay half.
My wife has MS and under the existing system there is no way I can afford to pay for insurace for her. Most companys won't insure her and the ones that do charge $1000 or more a month for crappy $10,000 deductable insurance. My insurance would be areound $160.

I believe the Patriot act was treated the same way. It certainly wasn't released to the public.

So basically what you are saying is that because your wife has MS you should get a break on insurance? That's like saying that a person driving a Ferrari should pay the same premium as someone driving a Pinto. Insurance is a business and they deserve to make money just like anyone else. You wife's treatments, medicine and overall general care will cost more than someone who is in good health. It's flawed logic.
I am not taking a dig at or making light of your wife's illness but that's just part of life and the hand she was dealt. Be a man and deal with it and the costs associated with it.
Secondly insurance is a benefit not a right. Just because you flip hamburgers at McDonald's or stock shelves at Wal-Mart doesn't mean you are entitled to free or damn near free insurance. Once again they are business and deserve to make a profit not make sure the employees are always happy and taken care of.
