Smart people do and say stupid shit all the time because they don't think things through, or through simple ignorance. But, often there seems to be a failure to make connections between separate bits of information - almost like a nonverbal learning disorder. It could be that things like language, which require only wrote memorization, are easy and things like cognitive synthesis of abstract concepts are nebulous.

Don't rule us out, guys. As you know, the personnel in Iraq's demobilization has been getting acceleratedquite a bit without reason. Well, go to find out, many of the troops won't "be home for the holidays" as Obuttmunch said. Several are being redeployed within theater... staged, if you will. I won't get into specifics, but just from the ones I've talked to, it's going to be a fucked up situation.

I'm starting to think this Syrian set-up is nothing more than prepping a "need for intervention" over there, thus taking out Iran's frontline to Israel upon an attack.
