“There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods". Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Wow, guys, did I get under your skin with that one? :-)
I'm like you guys, I get taxes taken outta my check every week and I don't like it much, either.
I just think that the system as a whole is broken, and what was once a good thing has become a fucked up thing. There are too many loopholes for people to use to avoid paying any taxes, especially the rich people. Greed has a firm grasp on a large chunk of our population, and IMHO, it's one of the things that's fucking us over as a whole.
Here's something to think about. We're trillions of dollars in debt, we all know that. But how much smaller would that debt possibly be (given the gov't doesn't waste it all) if EVERYONE paid their taxes like they should, especially the rich people, instead of finding every single loophole to keep from paying?
And I know all your arguments for not wanting to pay, most of you have stated those already, and trust me, I understand them. I'm just trying to bring a different perspective to the situation. No need to crucify me."We, the people, are the rightful masters of both congress and the courts - not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the constitution." I want to see some guarantee that if we pay higher taxes the additional amount would be used to reduce the deficit instead of going toward increased spending. That will never happen though. What will happen with increased taxes is the aforementioned additional spending and then we'll be right back in the same spot, with high deficits, and the politicians saying that we need higher taxes. For that reason, i'm staunchly against tax increases. Washington needs to have it's spending reigned in.

I already pay as much in taxes as my wife makes a year.. I don't need to pay anymore."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

I am happy I don't have to deal with this BS. Other than the taxable income of my wife's I'm out of that rat race. We're trillions in debt because the federal government likes opening post offices to put a name on them when they are not needed, have unions with billions in legacy costs and aren't turning a profit and our politicians make bank and are allowed to have assets in the millions while being public servantsI wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool
