The only reason they are not destroyed, is because we would attack if they were. Israel is a little larger than Rhode Island. The moment that backing is removed, they will be destroyed. They are surrounded by enemies - Egypt, Syria, Iran, Jordan. They've been attacked before, and they were able to hold them off, but it's only a matter of time. Abandoning Israel is not going to yield better results, that is ridiculous.
