Yet your failure to use your education for pretty much anything proves my point. You are unable to muster even the slightest bit of skepticism for anything that you agree with. And I'm not just talking about the discussion at hand, either. So, why don't you address the points that were brought forth to you. Or can you not disprove anything anyone else has posted. I'm not disagreeing with you that the government is too powerful, but I am disagreeing with you in the fact that you can't wrap your head around the fact that they make whatever laws they want to.

And in general, I don't have to disprove anything you've posted, because you haven't proven it.

That's just it. You're NOT correct, and you DO NOT understand it, regardless of purported education or life experience. . Read this, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN:

Yes, they could theoretically pass such a law and the president could sign it. It'd be political suicide, but we'll go with it for now.

The lawsuits that would erupt would put it before the supreme court (judicial branch) and it would be declared unconstitutional and nullified.

Most of us came by this "education" around 3rd grade. How you missed it then, and pretty much every year of school after, I have no idea. But repeating that "You understand it and you're right" doesn't just magically make unicorns shoot out of the oval office and change how this country is run. Fuck, this was like the FIRST thing taught to us in government class. How do you not GET IT, when everything you post about has to do with this country or politics?

I'm going to add to Eric's post with your own post. You seem to have understood what was being said all along.

And the Supreme court has to decide to hear it. They can simply refuse to hear it for giggles. We have MANY unconstitutional laws on the books usually because it's so expensive and intensive to get to the Supreme Court.

I'm not trying to trick you into an argument. I agree wholeheartedly that the constitution was written with the intent on Gov't being proactive about the laws they wish to pass. Unfortunately, this is not how they operate.

I'm not arguing that this is how they work, I'm saying this is an unconstitutional government that has LONG since forgotten it's limitations and the checks placed on it. It has, for over a century, worked to convince citizens that the 2nd amendment is about hunting instead of replacing a tyrannous government and then placed laws limiting ownership of firearms when the 2nd is the only right that says "shall not be infringed."

The federal government is bound to ONLY the 18 enumerated powers and any powers granted by additional amendments. Anything beyond that is an unconstitutional action and if this country wasn't a bunch of lazy fuckers, we'd have taken Jefferson's advice and replaced it and reset it and reminded those in powers that they do so at OUR grace and that violating the constitution has very real consequences.

In the past 3 years I have been to DC a dozen times, every time I spoke before Congress, namely the House and Senate Arms services committees, I have been to the White House as a guest for the resigning of the Americans with Disabilities Act, I've been in the West Wing (looks nothing like the show) of the White House and spoke to Obama's aids about veterans and the disabled and am currently active on the Texas State Council on Independent Living. I was also Pelosi's guest at the lighting of the White House's Christmas tree. What have you done?

That's great. You have done a lot for the disabled and for veterans and I commend you for it.

But... what does any of that have to do with the rant that I asked you about? Did you tell Pelosi that she is a traitor? Did you notify Congress that they need to GTFO with those 'laws' that they passed unconstitutionally?
