The news has been saying that same thing for a few weeks now.

We have got to get away from this popularity contest of an election. It is ruining us faster and faster every four years.

You are quite right. It should not be based on looks or popularity. I don't like any of the above listed choices. I really have no clue who I would vote for. They are all sleazy, underhanded, tell us anything we want to hear choices.

The only man who means what he says, backs it up with actions, and actually gives a damn about the future of our country, Ron Paul. Love him or hate him, he has just about single handedly been steering the direction of the GOP race.

Have you watched the debates? Most of the candidates do exactly what you said. However, there are some candidates in that list that are different than the normal candidate running for president. The 3 that stick out the most are Gingrich, Paul, and Cain.

Disagreeing with their views is one thing, but there are some that are not sleazy or just telling us anything we want to hear...

Ron Paul's voting history says otherwise. I like Cain as well. I would vote for a Paul (Pres.)/Cain (VP) ticket for two consecutive terms and then a Cain/whoever ticket afterwards. This would get Paul in on his last years to teach Cain the ins and outs. Of course, this is all speculative theory. Presidents age faster for a reason, after all.

Gingrich has enough in his past to mark him as a career politician, however, he does seem to be leaning towards The People in his decisions nowadays.

What's really fucked up is that this group makes me hope Palin actually does run.

I'm not understanding why the repubs are even talking about this retarded "jobs" bill. When asked what the government should do to create jobs, I want to hear the repubs say "Fucking nothing you dumbasses... its not the governement's place to have anything at all to do with jobs." But no, they're actually talking it over with them. They need to come to no agreement to help put the squeeze on obama and make him look worse. After all, he's the president.
