"The writings — which some have interpreted as being either Arabic or Arabic-type symbols "

I've never had a TSA card put in mine. Guess the luggage handlers are the ones doing it
      I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

I think its random on the checked bags. Sometimes I have the card and sometimes not. I've never read the whole card but remember it saying something about it was randomly chosen to be searched...

2 weeks ago I had an 8am Southwest flight from DAL to HOU. It got cancelled that morning (no weather). Their reason: "Well it just says that plane was taken out of service. Who knows..."

          Hmmmm
Hell, that's just typical SWA flight ops. I've had them announce several times that we had to get off of a plane because of "trouble" when it was obvious that they didn't have enough people to fill up the plane for the next segment. Then we were merged onto another later flight that was more full.

Majority of theft happens after the bags are checked, its a very common deal

How else are they gonna figure out if your shit is worth stealing.
Prob a joint effort for the locals

Per the faa regs the scheduled flights have to go. You'd be suprised what can ground a plane. These are schedule flights and operate under certain regs. I'd also guess employee's. Not every joe schmoe can just walk onto a charlie or bravo and get up next to the gates and play around the planes.
