Watched the entire debate. I'm curious to see what other board members thought about it.

Opinions on the Tea Party Debate tonight?

I think it was mostly a joke and just helped prove that the Republican part is full of just as much shit as the Democrats. For being a debate, there wasn't a whole lot of debating going on; 8 candidates and most of the answers consisted of "I agree with my opponent, except on those things we disagree on". It was mostly 7 or 8 people answering the question the same; except for Ron Paul who kept pulling shit out of left field, like when he started talking about Iraq and Afghanistan when they were talking about Social Security reform; I used to like him but he is starting to act more and more like Grampa Simpson every time he speaks.
I did love that fact that Bachman beat the shit out of Perry in regards to Guradisil; that was funny as shit.
As usual most of them just fucking danced around the questions and refused to give a direct answer; like when the guy asked directly "how much of my money that I earn do you think I should keep?" Pretty fucking direct question, but not one of them that answered actually answered the question; they just danced around it like most politicians.
The winner? In my opinion it was Cain; he was the only one that seemed to attempt each time to actually answer the fucking question, and he didn't give some bullshit answer like "I want to reform this and reform that"; he fucking told us what specifically he would reform. Maybe the only reason he has the aptitude to answer a fucking question is because he is not a politician; god knows the real "politicians" can't answer a fucking question to save their lives. And maybe that is what we need in office; a non-politician, because electing "real" politicians hasn't worked out that great so far.I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

They all dine at the same trough, no?
I would not dare suggest that any one of them could fuck this country so sideways as our current POTUS, but the ones with the sand to get it on track are not going to win the popularity/beauty contest.Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."
Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."

Cain told them what they wanted to hear, but I think Bachmann made a pretty good turn-around tonight. Gingrich did well, too, but it's still Romney and Perry that are favorites.

Agreed. In an amazing slight of hand, Santorum just wiped out Ron Paul. Of course, this is want MSNBC and the CNN groups wanted to see...these candidates are going to cannibalize each other.

As far as the 9-11 thing, he tells people how it is(the truth) and not always what they want to hear. As soon as they started applauding Santorum for explaining his reasons behind the 9-11 attack, you can tell the level of intelligence in the audience. In his defense he never said the man should die, he was merely saying everyone should be responsible for themselves. And if for some reason they cannot the church/community/family etc should help and not leave it on the government to pick up the check. I would have to agree that this debate was more of a joke than anything.
Though he didn't say,"let the man die", the inference was certainly there. Obviously, if the man is in ICU, a church organization can't care for him. This is the point on which Blitzer tried to get him to clarify.

These debates are designed to find a candidate through the process of elimination. Most of the questions came straight from Tea Party members, so I can't say they were "loaded", and they certainly weren't soft-balls.

Ron Paul effed himself with his 9-11 comments.
Cain again was the only one that shared his ideas and plans to actually get shit done. Without touting... " look at me and what I am taking credit for ."
This debate seemed to be the most fair of the 3 I have watched. All candidates seemd to get a fair amount of time/questions. Michelle Bachman surprises me more and more at each debate.
I am sick of Romney and Perry going at it on stage. Get them out of there.Last edited by mustangguy289; 09-13-2011, 08:40 AM.

All I know about Ron Paul is that he wants to pull all foreign aid and military from other countries... etc. He is very redundant and thinks this is the answer for everything. He needs to become more well-rounded at these debates.

As for his health care policy, IMO it sounds good. As he has said turning around this cluster fuck of a government we have now wont be something done overnight. But the man has consistency and a good track record of sticking to what he believes in.
The more I listen to Cain the more I like him as well though, he shares alot of similar views as Ron Paul. As long as those 2 idiots Perry/Romney dont win i'll be happy.Last edited by woodstock; 09-13-2011, 08:50 AM.

When it comes to his foreign/monetary policies he has hit the nail on the head so to speak IMO.
