I'd say genocide, but some say I'm a dreamer.

Since when are they MY obligation? I'm my brothers' keeper. I'll be the frist person to give you the shirt off my back, but you'll be flat on your ass if you come try and take it.

Look, forced Socialism is nothing more than theft from those who earn their keep. If we were to cut both social programs and the taxes associated with them, you'd be surprised to see the level of charity and care we could give each other on our own. We'd prop ourselves up and set each other up for success. The freeloaders would be exposed and dealt with. Less government = better society.

Well said Denny. Charity taken at the point of the IRS' gun is tyranny.

Not only is it not my obligation to support able bodied adults who can't or won't fend for themselves, doing so takes money away from the people that it IS my job to support. This same idea applies to the old people and that fucking Ponzi scheme called social security. It isn't my fault they fell for that line of bullshit that the government was selling but now it is my job to pay for them.

The goal of my life is to leave my children a legacy. Paying for other people who don't want to work or failed to plan takes away from that goal. It takes money out of my child's pocket and puts it into someone else's.

I have a hard time looking some kid in the face and thinking he owes me money via a government check every month. This money doesn't rain down out of the sky like fucking magic. It gets TAKEN from people. Maybe I should just go start taking shit from people and use a gun rather than government, how would that be any different?

My favorite part of this bullshit is that "more discouraged workers rejoined the workforce". Give me a fucking break, you are either unemployed or you aren't.

Actually Social Security might have worked if it hadn't been raided for decades. As it is I would want the option made available to withdraw my contributions should I so choose and not participate, but that won't happen.

It would never work because any surplus would not be saved for times of deficit. That is the problem with our government and it stems from the fact that we don't require a balanced federal budget every year.

That's what I meant by saying had Social Security not been raided. Of course now we'll never know.

My point is that is doesn't have to be "raided". If it wasn't raided then the politicians would dole out the surplus as pay increases to get more votes.

The problem with out government is that there is no penalty to these fucks for raising taxes but people squeal like a pig when they don't get their "ZOMG FREE GUBMENT MONEY!"

I'm very fortunate as well to be overcompensated.

I am up for a review in the next week or two and well....bitch better have my money. And I don't mean part of my money...I mean ALL my money. We are closing on a $130 million dollar loan on the 20th and as Jethro says "If this shit was easy, women and children would be doing it".

I'm all for a "hand up" but not for "hand outs". Sure, as a civil society we could and probably should establish safety nets to a certain extent, to be used for unfortunate/temporary circumstances. What we have today is way past that, as evidenced by the abuse and fraud of the system, and the loss of shame of those people leeching off of it. It's become a way of life.

People will survive; it's one of our strongest base instincts. 99 weeks of unemployment encourages people to sit on their ass instead of taking a job (or two jobs, hell i've worked two jobs before at the same time and it didn't kill me). For those people that are in an area where there are no jobs - they need to move BEFORE the unemployment money runs out. Also, it strikes me that a person can learn a new skill in 99 weeks, but few seem to be making that effort.

For most people when the unemployment checks stop, the food runs out, and the rent is past due - they will get up off their ass and find work. A hungry stomach is a great motivator.

Some people are lazy fucks and just want to sit around, and i'm all for that - as long as they aren't getting any of my tax money.
