FEMA is denying all applications for assistance until the president declares a state of emergency in Texas.

So what are your thoughts on this? Yes I understand chain of command, how things work etc, but to turn people away in a time of need like that based on protocol seems awfully harsh. Your thoughts?

Obama has refused to declare an SOE on two occasions where we've had wildfires raging through the state this year. Yet three days before the big fuckin' deal hurricane (tropical storm, really) hit new york, he declared an SOE there in advance. He'll make Perry beg for federal assistance then use it in a campaign.
