  • Why exactly did Rick Perry support Al Gore?

    Anyone know specifically?

This is an interesting question that I hope someone within the media can ask him directly... on camera.

Gore's campaign was a cookie-cutter "more tax, bigger government and social programs" campaign. Perry did say that it was before he became a global warming nut, but that is the first time I ever heard a candidate make an issue of it.

It was the '88 campaign while Perry was a dem. Perry switched over to Republican in '89 because of it (Al Gore's nuttiness).

Perry answered this by saying that he incorrectly thought gore was the most conservative democrat, and he (perry) wanted to "save" the democratic party at the time.

That makes no sense. From a Gore bitch to a wanna-be Tea Partier?

He just sells to the highest bidder. Nothing more, nothing less. I doubt he has any real personal stances.

Gore wasn't that crazy in '88. A democrat anywhere is going to support a dem in a whitehouse bid. Let's look at all candidates in '88, including Ron Paul. As I said, these guys have well over 20 years of history, and have made mistakes.

Yeah, he was asked this question in a live radio interview i was listening to. He basically played up that he was a "conservative" democrat and was trying to keep the party from shifting to the left. He said hitching his boat to gore was a bad judgement call concerning gore's "conservatism.

Because he is a politician and he would suck a cock on live television if he thought it would get him elected.
